It’s been a while since I’ve blogged about my wedding work, but I have been so busy with marriage designs in 2010! I’m finally getting to be able to catch up on sharing these events, and I’m so excited to start off the post-a-thon with your photos from Abby and Josh’s wedding!
Abby is a friend of my very own from college days; we met in late 2005 when we both moved onto campus as freshman and found ourselves living on the same dormitory floor. After college she decided to offer with AmeriCorps, which is where she met Josh – first her best companion, and later her love.
The two were married in Carmel, California, and though I was sad not to be able to attend the ceremony, I was so proud to contribute to their wedding day by designing custom jewelry for Abby and her bridesmaids.
The necklace I designed for Abby is made in a lariat style, featuring a handmade stringed of white glass pearls and faceted clear glass gem beans in various shapes and sizes. From the stringed hangs a faceted glass teardrop with a halo of small white glass pearls (slightly disorderly in the photograph).
I designed her bracelets to match, using the same regions of clear faceted glass beans and white glass pearls.
Abby’s custom bridal hair jewelry draws from the colors and embellishments of her stunning wedding dress. I especially like how the lariat style necklace complements the man necklace of Abby’s gown. Stunning!
For the Abby’s bridesmaids, who donned short dresses with noble blue lace overlay, I created subservient bracelets and necklaces featuring luminous glass beans in sapphire, dark greyish, and clear. The bright yellow accessories in the bridesmaids’ bouquets completed the structure!
Here’s a better look at both pieces.
As you can see, the bracelets consist of a pear-shaped set glass stone with three declines of sapphire blue rondeles and dark greyish teardrops. The necklaces feature the same elements in a variety of shapes, all put together on a durable stretch cable.
Congratulations to the beautiful Abby and her new husband Josh. May your new marriage be every bit as beautiful as your special day!
